Vision

The department of Cosmetology prepares its students to take up roles as professionals in the cosmetic industry. It is a practice-oriented program, providing a variety of career opportunities. Not only do students acquire skills related to cosmetic arts, but they also develop interpersonal skills to succeed in the cosmetics industry. Those with a strong business aptitude will be able to open and operate their own businesses. The courses will also prepare students to play a role in transferring their skills at home or aborad.

Course Description

The course prepares students to take up roles as professionals in the cosmetics industry. It is a practice-oriented program providing a variety of career options. Students not only acquire skills related to cosmetology but also develop interpersonal skills to succeed in the cosmetics industry. Those with a strong business aptitude will be able to open and operate their own businesses. The course will also prepare students to play a role in transferring their skills at home or abroad.

Students will have work-ready skills and knowledge before their first job.
Subjects such as Hair Styling, Skin Care, Makeup, and Nail Art all have relevant practice-based assessment (implementation of 2+2 program) considered as an internship. This means students will be able to get a full-time position without having to do an apprenticeship upon graduation.

Students will be helped to develop critical thinking and design skills which are necessary in Hair Styling, Skin Care, Makeup, and Nail Art. They will also be up-to-date with the latest trends of cosmetology in the world.

Besides hair styling, skin care, and nail art, students will be able to find employment in the field of preventive dermatology. It is an area where dermatology and medicine are combined together. They could also work in the travel industry as a medical travel coordinator. The job requires some knowledge about nursing, cosmetology and tourism. Furthermore, they could find jobs as educators.

Students will have work-ready skills and knowledge before their first job.
Students will have opportunities to improve their foreign language skills and take part in student exchange programs and international student work programs. In addition, there will also be opportunities to go abroad for a short or long-term internship. With such experiences, students will be able to find employment abroad.
