Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition

Course Description

Food Science and Nutrition is a field where you learn about how eating habits affect the overall health of human beings and can improve the quality of human life. Bad eating habits cause obesity which may lead to chronic diseases such as cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular disorders, and diabetes. With rapid social changes and an aging population, people are even more interested in food supplements and health foods that over consumption of these foods has become a social issue. As a result, there has been an increase in demand for health care professionals.

The course covers a range of subjects dealing with food, nutrition, food service, and food nutrition education, and provides work experience through internship programs at local companies, institutes and organizations.
