Vision
The Department of Social Welfare offers courses that provide not only firm theoretical foundation, but also hands-on experience. Students develop skills and knowledge for intervention in different fields of practice, advanced theoretical analysis and application, social welfare practice and human services practices. Moreover, by asserting the University’s core values, the students are expected to improve the lives of others in Korea as well as other nations.
Course Description
The course will provide not only firm theoretical foundation, but also hands-on experience. Students will develop skills and knowledge for intervention in different fields of practice, advanced theoretical analysis and application, social welfare practice and human services practice.
Why choose to study this course at Changshin University?
Students will have a mentor to help them choose a career path through one-on-one consultations. Their parents will also be invited to be involved. For better understanding of the career opportunities in their chosen field of interest, students are encouraged to participate actively in voluntary work and learn to respect people irrespective of their social status.
On top of a solid theoretical foundation in social welfare science, students will have hands-on experience by completing fieldwork. Students will also be assisted in achieving qualifications to be able to work in different fields of practice.
For students to be ready for employment in the chosen field of their interest, they also need to understand social networks in their local communities. They will learn how to define social networks and how to communicate successfully in their local communities.
Students will be able to find international employment. They will have acquired enough English for such employment before the graduation, and will have opportunities to learn about different cultures of the world.
Finally, students can work for a combined degree which will open up a variety of opportunities in the job market.
