Course Description
Fire protection engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to protect property, and people from fires and natural disasters. It focuses on detection, suppression, and mitigation of the effects of fire as well as maintaining a tenable environment for evacuation and restoration of the environment after fires or natural disasters. It was not until 2004, the South Korean government realized the need to establish an organization to protect people and their property from fire as well as natural disasters. Hence, the National Emergency Management Agency was founded.
The Fire Protection Engineering Department aims to provide education to students who are interested in becoming fire engineers. The course places emphasis on foundation studies in science and professional engineering.
